This Privacy Policy explains how Varenna Studio (proprietor: Jimit Gopani), Punagam, Surat, Gujarat – 395010, India (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit or buy from our online store (the “Store”). It is published in line with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1. Data we collect

Contact details: name, phone/WhatsApp number, email, billing and delivery address.
Order details: products bought, order value, payment method and order history.
Payment information: payments are processed by secure third-party payment gateways. We do not see or store your full card, UPI PIN or net-banking details.
Communications: messages you send us on WhatsApp, email, phone or social media, including photos for exchange or damage claims.
Device and usage data: IP address, browser, device type and pages visited, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

2. Why we use your data

To process, ship and deliver your orders and handle cancellations, exchanges and refunds.
To send order, payment, shipping and delivery updates by email, SMS or WhatsApp.
To respond to your questions and complaints.
To prevent fraud and misuse (for example, repeated COD refusals).
To improve our website, products and service.
To send offers and new-collection updates – only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
To comply with legal, tax (GST) and accounting requirements.

3. Consent

By placing an order or submitting your details, you consent to us processing your personal data for the purposes above. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us; this will not affect processing already carried out, and we may be unable to complete pending orders without the required details.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed with:

Shopify, which hosts our Store, and its service providers.
Payment gateways and banks, to process payments and refunds.
Courier and logistics partners, to deliver your order.
Messaging and email tools used to send order updates.
Government or law-enforcement authorities, where required by law.

5. Cookies

We use cookies to keep your cart working, remember preferences and understand how visitors use the Store. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some features (such as the cart) may not work properly.

6. Data security

We use reasonable security practices, including SSL encryption and access controls through Shopify and our payment partners. No online system is 100% secure, but we take care to protect your data.

7. How long we keep data

We keep your data only as long as needed to fulfil orders and for legal, tax and accounting purposes (generally up to 8 years for invoices and transaction records). Marketing data is deleted when you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct or update it; delete it (unless we must keep it by law); withdraw consent for marketing; and nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity. Email or WhatsApp us with your request; we may need to verify your identity.

9. Children

Our Store is meant for adults (18 years and above). We do not knowingly collect personal data of children. If you believe a child has shared data with us, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Third-party links

Our Store may link to Instagram, Facebook, Threads, WhatsApp and other sites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
